Digital Forestry Research Assistant/Associate Professor (Non-Tenure Track)

Join Purdue University’s Institute for Digital Forestry (IDF) and contribute to cutting-edge research in the convergence of novel technologies and data science approaches for measuring, monitoring, and managing forests. We are hiring up to 3 Research Assistant/Associate Professors on a 12-month non-tenure track basis.

Responsibilities:
Conduct high-impact, mission-oriented research using next-gen remote sensing technologies (RGB, LiDAR, multi/hyperspectral, synthetic aperture radar) on various platforms (proximal, UAVs, manned aircraft, autonomous vehicles, satellites). Apply advanced analytical methods for forest inventory, health monitoring, carbon accounting, and detection of disturbances.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in forestry, ecology, remote sensing, computer science, engineering, or related field required by the preferred start date in August 2024. Strong publication record, excellent communication skills, and a history of interdisciplinary collaboration are essential.
